مرغ خانه با هما پروا مکن

Don’t dream of soaring like the hawk in flight,

If you're a housebird, stay within your height.

پر نداری نیت صحرا مکن

No wings? Then don’t pursue the desert wide.

چون سمندر در دل آتش مرو

Don’t walk into the fire like salamanders do,

ور مری، تو خویش را رسوا مکن

And if you must, don’t shame yourself in view.

در زیا، آهنگری کار تو نیست

Forging steel is not your trade or role,

تو ندانی فعل، آتش‌ها مکن

If you lack the skill, don’t stir the coal.

اول از آهنگران تعلیم گیر

First learn the craft from masters of the flame,

ور نه بی‌تعلیم، تو، آن را مکن

Without their teaching, don’t attempt the same.

چون نه‌ای بحری به بحر اندر مشو

You’re not the ocean, don’t pretend to dive,

قصد موج و غره دریا مکن

Don’t chase the waves or let the sea misguide.

ور کنی پس گوشه کشتی بگیر

But if you must, then cling to boat and stay,

دست خود را تو ز کشتی وا مکن

Don’t let your grip on safety slip away.

گر بیفتی هم در آن کشتی بیفت

And if you fall, fall where the boat can hold,

تکیه تو بر پنجه و بر پا مکن

Don’t trust your hands and feet to make you bold.

چرخ خواهی؟ صحبت عیسی گزین

Want to ascend? Then walk with souls divine,

ور نه قصد گنبد خضرا مکن

Or don’t pursue the emerald dome’s design.

میوه خامی، مقیم شاخ باش

You’re still unripe, stay rooted on the tree,

بی‌معانی ترک این اسما مکن

Don’t drop the names before their truths you see.

شمس تبریزی مقیم حضرت است

Shams resides where presence fills the air,

تو مقام خویش جز آن جا مکن

Make no home but only truly there.

Maulana’s (Rumi) voice is a guide for every seeker.

He doesn’t say “don’t dream”, he says “don’t rush.”

To rise, we must be ready.

To act, we must be taught.

To journey, we must be anchored.

This is not a warning against ambition, it’s a map for becoming worthy of it.

Stay rooted until you ripen.

Seek masters before mastery.

And when you rise, rise with meaning not just motion.
